BURNED.

The other day, my friend Robert came over for dinner. I made one of those embarrassingly easy dinners with chicken and rice in cream of chicken soup and sour cream and cheese. Unfortunately, we didn't have any tin foil. I decided to be a super genius and use the pan that I had sauteed the chicken in to cover the top so that it wouldn't burn. Meanwhile, our dishwasher has been acting up so I was washing all the dishes by hand. Fast forward an hour...I took out the top pan so that the top of the casserole could brown a little bit. I walked into the living room for maybe three seconds, came back in and said, OH! I forgot to wash that pan (because all that registered was the grease in the pan from the chicken.) anyways, I grabbed it with a wet hand and it had time to sizzle before I reacted and threw it on the ground. Long story short, my roommates took me to the ER and they told me that I had areas of third degree burns on my fingers and a rather large second degree burn on my palm. The nurse told me that I'd have to go to a normal doctor to get it changed and then physical therapy to help with neural stimulation in my fingertips. They wrapped me up and sent me home like this:

When I got home, I was hurting something fierce. So I texted Robert and asked him to come and give me a blessing. In the blessing, he said that I'd be able to finish all of my finals and that I would be healed. The next day, I went to the doctor. They opened up my bandages to check the third degree burns especially, and there was almost nothing there! Well, there were still some nasty blisters which they popped like this one:

And my palm is still a bloody mess, but they said that they've never seen a burn heal that fast. I am so thankful for the power of the priesthood in my life and for worthy men to give blessings! Right now I'm on the mend, almost all of the dead skin has been removed and is healing nicely! I'll just be happy when I get to graduate from the hand balloon:
